Seeking info on edible/poisonous species

Posted by facethief Colorado (My Page) on

I am flying to Colorado July 3rd for a month long camping/hiking trip. I have been unsuccessful in finding the proper information on edible plants. I also must learn as many dangerous/poisonous species common in Colorado to avoid injury or death.

I would greatly appreciate anyone sharing notable species they have seen commonly in CO. Or if anyone can link me a site that provides a usable, relevant database I would love to try it out.

Thank you much -Facethief

The USDA plants database can be searched by state and county for many different things, including toxicity. I don't know if that's enough for you, but take a look.

Here is a link that might be useful: USDA Plants search page

You could try the state agriculture or forestry service.
