Another DYC

This DYC (darned yellow composite) is only about 6 inches tall, and its flower is almost 2 inches wide. Since the sunflower-type species are so difficult to identify, I sent the photo to a botanist. He said it was probably Helianthus annuus. I thought that it looked more like a short version of H. mollis, because of the light yellow center. Do you have any opinions?

The leaves of Helianthus mollis are sessile and clasp the stem, so you can rule that out. It can also have a dark disk. Here is a picture of mine

Thanks for the picture and ruling out H. mollis. I'm thinking this probably is a wild form of the common sunflower, as my botanist friend suggested.
