Help me ID some stuff please?

Hi, I don't know if this is the right board to post this on, but I have this massive "weed" patch, and am curious as to what some of these flowers are. I'll only post a couple pics, but link to my photobucket page below. I apologize for the poor photo quality.

I'd really like to know what this is, it's everywhere in my yard! The stem is red, the flowers (pic 2)are small, little bigger than a pea, bell shaped, white with pink stripes. If you break it, the stem excretes a white sticky substance.

This one is everywhere too. It sits only 6" or so off the ground. And like the dry areas.

This one has 2 in it. To the left are really bright yellow star shaped flowers. Then on the right, I don't even know how to describe it. It's fuzzy!

This one has a deep royal purple, honeysuckle like bloom, about the size of a grape. Stands about 2' tall

If you go and look at the rest of the pics. The first 3 are of milkweed, and I think the weeds15.jpg is pink dianthus (i saw that same thing forsale at a nursery for $6 a qaurt!!) weeds8.jpg has some kind of little (flower not stalk, it stands 3' or so) daisy, with what I thought was Queen Anne's Lace, but it looks slightly different, all the little flower have the yellow pollen, there's no black dot in the center, and they seem smaller. There's also, what looks blue inthe pic, but is actually purple, vine that is EVERYWHERE in the background. I had more pics, but they didn't turn out. I was considering collecting seed from some, as a wildflower mix. But not sure if it would be worth the effort.

Pictures # 3& 5 appear to be the same type of plant - purple prairie clover?
The fuzzy 1 in #4 is a Verbascum, the other might be a coreopsis.
The rest I have no clue. Nice wildflowers!

#3 and #5 definantly aren't the same. #3 only grows about 6" tall, and has this irredesent green turning to light purple at the top, very soft and fuzzy and the foilage is almost silvery. While #5 is over 2' tall and is not fuzzy, I only have 1 of #5 in my yard, and have never seen anything like it.

so the giant fuzzy thing is Verbascum? Does anyone know if its a host plant for any particular insects?

Hi toni!!!! I think you are right! I have been noticing the leaves looking limp on the cordy, and it never occured to me to check for mites!!!! I thought they were like that because of a transplant 2 weeks ago..Shoot, I will look tommorrow..Thankyou All of the plants were aquired all over the place through the years....Some at Logees, and some at Mahonies, even some at Home Depot..Yup. Home Depot..lol. Of course the ones that I wanted to save...;lol My last visit to Logees aquired me a couple of camellia plants and a blood orange about 5 inches high and already in bloom..Also meeting a couple of nice garden forum members.. Wish you could see this place..I owe you some pics and need to ask you for a few suggestions later.. Thankyou for you compliment, it means alot coming from you..:-) Hugs, Mike

#3 is Crassula ovata 'Gollum' 'Skinny Fingers' is a variety of 'Gollum' and thier is one more variety called 'Coral' that came from Europe a giant form the the above mentioned' Gollum' You have several 'Jade' plants in the pictures. One is very white and may not live. You also have a plant that looks like "Jade" but I believe could be Senecio 'Jacobsonii' which is a trailing plant. Don't let it fool you. The one with the red flowers, it 'Red Apple' can't recall the "Latin name" oh, yes 'Apetina". I am so glad to see that you are interested in names, many people are not and tease me because I am. Jo Jo I am pretty sure that you are right about #5 Crassula platyphylla This one of the reasons we need to know the names, if you have a problem with one of these just tell me that name, and see If we can be of help. Unless I am mistaken this is Pokeweed, Phytolacca octandra. As far I know most of the plant is toxic, but if you know what you are doing, the new shoots can be edible. Not that I would try it, even though you used to be able to buy cans of Pokeweed Greens in the USA.

#1 & #2 are Dogbane or Apocynum spp.
#4 with five petals is probably Potentilla, the other one is Mullein or Verbascum spp. which is an introduced European weed.

4 Could be Groundsel (Senicio) and Verbascum thapsus

Yellow fl in #4 cannot be Senecio. It has five petals, I'll stick with Potentilla.
If anyone thinks the last pic is Baptisia open this link and mouse all the way down for the real thing.

I would say that the plant in picture number 2 (above) is Rabbit's Foot Clover. Weeds from your link: #2 might be Campion or Bladderwort, #3 (daisy)looks like fleabane, #10 (queen anne's) is yarrow, and #23 looks like White Sweet Clover

YARROW!! That's been driving me nuts, I knew it wasn't queen anne's lace, but couldn't place it. Now looking at it I get hit w/ a big DUH!! White Yarrow....

Hey does anyone know of a very close relative to Queen Anne's that has pink blooms?? All of, what I was sure was QAL, even has that dark sterile flower in the center, is opening PINK! And the sterile flower is a deep plum color! It's got to be some kind of wild carrot plant. i dont have any pics of it yet (didn't think i needed them until they opened pink!)

I think the little yellow one is St Johnswort.
