Hi! Thank you everyone who had responded to my post. I had finally found out what plant this is. It is a sansevieria cylindrica. It is one of the weirdest plants I've ever seen. I returned to the store and had asked one of the salespeople what this plant was (Which is what I should've done in the first place...). The salesperson was so nice, she even placed an order for some sansevieria to be delivered the following day. Again, thank you for all of the responses. Everyone had brought up names and photos of plants I have always been curious about and have wanted to buy, but have never known what to call them by way of identification. Sincerely, mbluetyphoon

Pam, That is a beautiful specimen for certain. Succulents of all kinds, including Sedums like yours, are absolutely Cottage plants found in the old world gardens and still found in British and European cottage gardens today. Some are grown in the ground along paths and some in assorted pots. They are absolutely "cottagey". :) I have many types of succulents myself. I love them. They add the most interesting textures and colours to the garden, and are not fussy plants. ~ sweetannie4u

The typical hardware store forms of glyphosate have trouble killing these because they don't have enough surfactant in them. It just runs off the leaf surface. They only add enough surfactant to kill more typical weeds like dandelions and annual grasses. Any properly diluted agricultural surfactant (or possibly, just 1/2 tsp. dish detergent per gallon) will allow them to be killed; you should still probably use a higher dilution. 2,4-D or various other auxin-type herbicides will kill them too, again, with enough surfactant. I pull Euphorbia usually, though, to try to get the seeds. They aren't too hard to pull in my soils, at least, after rains. "Using a glyphosate product to control Purslane is overkill since that creates a good place for more Purslane to grow, as well as distributing a potential carcinogen." Dairy milk, peanut butter, and red meat are also potential carcinogens. Please, do not spread these items on your garden. Agree with you though, that, any patch of bare soil is a magnet for weeds...and is the "root" cause that needs to be corrected.

Blue and purple flower tones photograph less accurately than any other color IMO and sometimes the nurseries "enhance" a photo's color, and in my garden, light levels effect the color of blues, so photographing the same plant with the same camera at different times of day and sun conditions will give me quite different colors. So you want to look at leaf shape, blossom size and petal shape and gappiness/overlap, and the color and size/texture of the center boss of stamens. Sometimes petal count helps, though for many it's somewhat variable. Looking at the seed clusters may help. If you aren't familiar with Clematis on the Web, you can fill in what you know (in this case that it's group integrifolia) and try blue, purple and violet for color to see what possibilities arise. However, GG48 has given you a good list of possibilities that are/were readily available in the US. Another one is Miranda, a sister to Arabella that is darker and was available for a while but seems to be no longer. If you aren't in the US, perhaps someone from your country can chime in. CotW is an international listing and not all are available in the US and not all are available on the market, so it will give you a lot of excess in the list of possibilities. There are a few in the River series developed by Wim Snoeijer in the Netherlands, but I don't know if any have been available in the US for more than 3 or 4 years, and I doubt if one would find them at a big box store.
