Enceliopsis covillei?

As I said in another forum, I would find it hard to believe that Enceliopsis covillei, AKA Panamint Daisy, would be growing on the coast - a native to the Panamint Range of Death Valley, here on the northern CA coast??? Would it be a variant?

I was wrong; it's Coast gum plant (Grindelia stricta var. platyphylla). . .
