Plantomaniac, those are beautiful....the purple blooms are the best.....I had some small pots but none ever bloom for me.

For information, one can google the name of the species and then go to a certain site that we a not alowed to mention on this site that begins with "Dave" and ends with "garden's". It mentions that Faucaria tegrina is hardy to 9b or 20 degrees. A sheet might get you 10 degrees, but probably less. Christmas lights under the sheet might get you all the way there or since the plants are low, throw some leaves under the sheet. The semps need notheing, the ghost plant is hardy to 7b. Agave americana is hardy to about 23 f. The plant you have is still smallish so maybe it is growung back from the roots. One can still protect it with a sheet but once it gets to big, they get to be a pain to protect.

This probably isn't what you had in mind but here "was" my pot of old Orange Sovereigns before I finally separated them and gave many away. I don't even know if I have any of these left. This was really the only time that the bulbs all bloomed at the same time. Other bulbs that I had left the offsets in with the mother always seemed to bloom at different times and I never really got the beautiful effect as I did with this pot.

Gorgeous Strelitzia! Yes, I'm afraid the politics in this state have become decidedly moronic. That is, the more idiotic the proposal, the greater likelihood it will not only be passed into law, it will be "fast-tracked" through so as to give folks the barest of bare minimum of time to react and provide input.
