I am receiving lots of "cannot send to this email address" so please make sure you either forward an address where you can be reached or update your settings in GW. Unfortunately, I don't have time to track individuals down to make sure you are receiving the messages I'm sending. :) Julie, there seems to be a problem with GW and email addresses when you get the folloow-up replies emailed to you. When you hit 'reply' it should show the GW email addy, but often it is also showing the member name behind the address, and then that causes the email to show as 'rejected'. I know you will get this reply, so if you try and then 'reply' to that email, please note what is in the TO line before hitting send. If you then delete off 'the extra' stuff behind the email addy, it should send just fine. Clear as mud? I'm just being a busy body here and not wanting to take you up on your kind offer. tree flowering is so short term ... and in my z5, so early .. that they are usually done.. before the hummers come north .... if it were me.. my best suggestion .... plant any tree for other reasons.. and hang a hummer feeder from it .... otherwise.. you would also be better served by planting a number of shrubs.. that flower over a longer period, so that once they stop into your garden.. they have a reason to stay ... my elderly neighbors have the feeders... no kids.. and the bee/wasp thing .... the hummers cruise my garden for any and all flowers .. after getting sugar from the feeders .... they really dont need specific flowers to come to your yard ... i have also found the smallest nests you would ever believe .. good luck ken

Your correct, I dont have any idea of what I am doing, that is why I am asking. My Bio filter is part of the waterfall, I just have a small hose sifening from there down to the tub. The tub overflows into a smaller pool and then trickles back into the pond via a small creek. Maybe what I have created is more of a marsh. The water is continualy flowing through it, so it works as a filtration as well as the bio filter. I am just wanting to figure what plants might be the best to put in it, and thinking I should put a layer of sand on top of the peat mixture. Some of the peat floats.

Well, if you Google Vaccinium elliotii, you will see that Growing Wild Nursery out of North Carolina lists it for sale for $14. They mention in comments "this plant is sometimes listed as Vaccinium corymbosum; Vaccinium elliottii is very distinct, having much narrower leaves." The one that Ron has is listed as " Vaccinium elliot." I was really looking to get the Mayberry which is also a butterfly/moth larval host plant, but I think that what I got was not exactly what I was thinking. Still, it's a native Blueberry and will satisfy a lot of what I was hoping for, so I am good. It's all a bit confusing. :)
