| The first looks like Norway maple. Try pulling off another leaf and wait a little while to see if it exudes milky sap. The second one is sugar maple. Can tell by the shape of the leaf and the samaras. |

| Thank you very much for your reply. I'm pretty sure that Tree One is a Norway Maple. I'm glad to know the other one is a native Sugar Maple. I had the feeling that's what it was, but wanted to ask just to be sure. Well, at least there is one native tree out there in our "maple area". Thanks again. |

| I agree with the ID from lycopus. There should be milky sap from Norway Maple, but it can be hard to extract at times. Try squeezing the leaf stem to force out some sap. |
