| We have a man made pond that has about 4' of bank before reaching the shore line & there are a whole bunch of these plant coming up. It's a shrub looking plant with a stem that's red & red goes into veins in leaves which are green. The edge of leaves are zagged. I'm not sure if I should leave them be or pull them up. I've done web searches & cannot find it. |

Could be Rattlesnakeweed, Hieracium venosum, a native member of the Hawkweed Family. However, I have not seen those with jagged leaves, but observed some with coarse hairy edges. It is unclear if it is considered a noxious weed, as are some of the introduced species of Heiracium. I have it in my garden and after a number of years, it has not been invasive. Check the images on the link and see if that is the plant you have. Rb |

| E:\Documents and Settings\Kritrkz\My Documents\My Pictures\2005-08 (Aug)-08\DCP_1114.JPG I'm not sure if you can view from here as I'm not real 'computer savvy' as to how to transfer a picture onto this board, but I took a picture of one of these bigger plants last night. |

| You are telling my computer to look at my E drive. You need either to put the picture in this forum, or you need to have an internet "album" where it can be posted. |
