Common elderberry is a highly adaptable shrub from the eastern U.S., with berries galore for wildlife and humans alike
Full StoryI thought I'd identified a 5 ft sapling growing on my land as a buckthorn . There is only one--so far. After identifying it, I went out to remove it. However, I pruned one branch and looked for the identifying orange layer and found none. So, I decided to leave it for now and post this question.
Are there any buckthorn look-alikes that I may have mistaken for a buckthorn?
Thanks,
David
