I saw some Rudbeckia 'Goldsturm' at a Home Depot and had to pick it up - the color and shape of the flowers is really neat. I'm thinking of doing a sort of mass planting along the eastern side of my house. but I had two questions for everyone here:

1) How tall do these guys really get? I've seen online and on plant tags heights ranging from 24" - 40". What gives? What do you all average?

2) Is there a big problem with reseeding? Where I want to plant is between a wall of my garage and a side yard that gets mowed regularly. Mowing should be sufficient for keeping stray seedlings in check, right?

The "gold storm" blankets the tops of 18-30-inch tall plants from mid-July to October. Plant width is 24 inches.

This excellent composite can be propagated by seed, division, or stem cuttings. Height and color uniformity can vary in plants grown from seed compared to asexually propagated plants.

and yes...I think it could just then be controlled by mowing off any seedlings.
