Mountain Mint/Pycnanthemum questions

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Hoary Mountain Mint (Pycnanthemum incanum), or Clustered Mountain Mint (Pycnanthemum muticum)? The USDA has both listed as growing in our county, but I've yet to see them growing here in the wild.

Our elevation is only 150-225 feet (river valley) so am wondering how well a "mountain" mint would grow in our area? Love the look of this native, but am just cautious about planting any natives outside their normal range...

Northern Piedmont, Zone 6b.

Thanks in advance!
