variegated ginger

I bought 4 variegated ginger plants approximately one month ago. 3 of the plants have really taken off, but the 4th actually looks smaller than when I planted it (the leaves extend horizontally from the stem instead of vertically). Since all of the plants are planted in the same area, with the same soil and light exposure, I can't figure out what could possibly be causing the stunted growth of one plant.

Also, the leaves of my plant are always curled up despite moist soil and frequent watering.

Any advice would be appreciated

I would check out the condition of the soil that the plant was growing in. I am presuming you just plugged it into your ground and did not remove any of the old soil.

The Ginger Forum is for tropical gingers. Since this post was on the natives forum, I was assuming the post was about native gingers which are Hexastylis and Asarum.
