| Could someone please explain to a complete foreigner the conditions under which this plant thrives and continues itself? (Seeds, increasing rosettes, whatever...)
At this end my local climate is cool temperate with light frosts (-1 to -5C usually and not often) in winter and early spring, humidity usually 60+ and with rain most months of the year. There are four seasons, and most rain falls in winter-spring. My soil is a brown clay loam and slightly acidic. Rhododendrons grow easily - and so does lavender - so pH is around 6 - 6.5. The garden has been established for quite a while and there are enough trees to have changed the light to 'dappled' with a few patches of 'all day sun'. If none of that is suitable - does this plant do well in containers? Please correctly assume that I know next to nothing about its requirements and 'spell it out' . |
