does anyone know about planting Chionanthus virginicus Fringe tree near Carya hickory? I have fringe tree close to some Mockernut hickory and think I need to move them now. I've run across some vague references that "hickory poisons Chionanthus virginicus roots" but don't know if this is fact or one of those things people read and made a fact. I can't really find quality info on it so wonder if anyone has the scoop on this.

I hate to move the fringe tree. It's been doing great.

Just reading the title of your thread evokes an image of a great fall color combo. Both plants can be a nice yellow!
