Hi,

Just wondering if someone can confirm this plant is a Japanese Spirea (Spiraea japonica) before we eradicate it. I'm pretty sure that's what it is, but just wanted to be certain it's not a native American plant before we get rid of it.

This plant is growing in a damp, north-facing thicket area that is shaded on the south side by a building. Its companions include Japanese wineberry (Rubus phoenicolasius) which we are eradicating. There is also native raspberry, aster, and goldenrod near it.

Zone 6, PA, Northern Piedmont. Thanks in advance.

It looks to me to be either Gold Mound or Gold Flame spirea.

OK great, it does look like one of those, thank you! It will be going bye bye then. I think we'll plant some Joepyeweed in its place. Appreciate your help...
