preparing milkweed for winter

What do I need to do, if anything, to prepare my stand of milkweed for the coming winter? Most of the plants have been reduced to stems by monarch caterpillars. I do collect seeds from the pods.

You needn't do anything, however you can cut them down to the ground if you find the stems unsightly, or you can wait til spring to do that.
