Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out what this bush is. This is a cutting I took earlier today. You can see there are some small white/purplish flowers. The berries start out green and ripen into the yellow-orange color in the picture. The birds seem to like the berries a lot. Any help would be appreciated!

Could it be a kumquat? Does the fruit smell citrus-y if you break into it? Is this growing in the wild or a garden?

I think this is a Solanum . It was ided on one of the GW forums recently. I'll see if I can find it.

I think it's Solanum diphyllum.

Ah, a more robust looking Solanum than most of the others. I agree.

Thanks so much! reading up on this shrub, I'm nearly certain that's what it is. I know I can always count on y'all to help me out. One of my cousins got it from a neighbor a few years ago but never could figure out what it was. She's much older and not real tech-savvy, so I told her I'd try and figure it out for her. I was going to plant one in my yard for the birds. |
