shooting star in my garden?

Hi,

I am in Columbus OH. Just discovered a little flower blooming in one of my garden beds & have figured out that it is a "shooting star"; but all the info that I have been able to find so far indicate that it is a spring bloomer, and the picture of the species native to this area looks different. Mine is pale lavander to pink with magenta-purple marks where the petals reflex (at the "mouth" opening of the blossom). The picture I found of the Ohio native is differently colored.

My mystery is how it got there (I don't remember planting it!), is it another Ohio native, and will it survive the winter if not Ohio-native?

Thanks, Raee
