Prairie Smoke Leaves

I have a single Prairie Smoke (Geum triflorum) plant. I planted it alst fall and it came up great this year. It has now "died". ALl of the leaves dried up and it appears dead. This being the first year I have had this plant, I was wondering if this is normal. I have other plants that do that, but was not sure about this one. Any knowledge would be helpful!

I have a small planting about 2 feet around. Some of the leaves are dead, but others are green. Your plant may come back in spring.

Thanks, everyone. Yes, it's Geum triflorum. Friends gave me seeds....and I snatched some from a park in Chicago. Tee hee hee. Sorry, tiffy. I looked through my files and found no picture of the whole plant. I'll go out tomorrow to take some. Hope they didn't get smashed. A tornado just went through the area this evening. Mine are still small, but the ones in the park are at least 18" tall. They are grouped together in large drifts. They were quite impressive when I saw them yesterday. I will see if they suffered any storm damage when I go to work on Monday. Here are some more photos. They were taken last month. They are even smokier now and started to fly away. Buds:

tiffy, Prairie Smoke actually does very well in poor soil. :-) I was them growing in the Rockies rain shadow outside Glacier National Park in Montana. daisy, I have been transplanting Prairie Smoke seedlings little by little. I always shade newly planted seedlings/divisions in this kind of weather and water them everyday for a week. Most are doing fine. I have lost a couple clumps. I think it's because of heavy rain we have had these past few weeks.
