Plant Identification

I have a plant peaking over the fence from the neighbors and wonder what it is...

It is fast growing, has alder like leaves and clusters of black berries in a "grape like " cluster. The berries go from green to black and the stems of the plant that is at least 8 feet high are reddish purple. The leaves are green.

The clusters are about 8 inches long and very regular all cluster almost the same size.

Cluster stems also same color as the "branches"...

Came up fast like a plant, but has tree like proportions.

Small tree that is.

Thanks..I don't know how to upload the picture I have, but when I figure it out I will.

It would be helpful to know where you are located.

Look at pictures of Pokeweed, Phytolacca americana, and see if that matches it.

This forum does not support picture attachments. But you can load them onto a photohosting site like photobucket.com and then post a link to it.

It is not knotweed......and it does look like a tree seedling (root shoot), what type I am not sure. But you will get faster and accurate ID's if you use the forum - Name That Plant - that is intended for plant identification. This is not the right place :-)
