Several yrs back crow was caught in fishing string in neighbor's pine tree very high up. He would try to fly & take off & fall about 15 in.over & over again & come evening as sun was going down the neighborhood suddenly had over 100 crows, they were everywhere all cawing & some would get close & sit on branch near him(giving him encouragement I guess)I was going to call someone next morning but he was gone. Last week as I came out of alley, I saw a crow looked kind of odd way he was walking then I realized he had broken his leg & his left foot was backward & useless & he was actually walking on the leg & not the foot that had managed to heal. I see him all the time now. Another time 1 lost it's mate & the 2nd bird would not leave it. I finally asked the neighbor man if he would pick it up & still the bird kept walking around until nightfall & came back several times following days. Dad thought they mate for life but don't know if that is so or not. We seem to have 3-4 up in pine tree but that's all. I like them. Hope you crow thing works out!! jan

I had to direct sow last year after my zinnia seedlings failed and the daffs flopped. So I never did get it too look like what I had in mind. But this year is different. Jean, I know zinnias need lots of sun and the get lots of sun there all afternoon from about noon on. Just shady earlier in the morning.

Thanks Christine! I learned how to do the Florida Weave by watching Y-Tube videos myself. But I heard about it on the vegeatable forum, or maybe it was the tomato forum. One of those two. Then I googled, found the videos and knew that I wanted to try it. I love it! Had to do something because I ran out of tomato cages and didn't want to buy more. Rose, I sure am glad I don't have to do all that work of putting in all the daylily beds that are here again. I don't think I have the energy! But I wanted an area for more veggies and really, that spot I moved the roses out of was what I thought up. It is going to look nice when I am done. Well, veggie gardens are not too ornamental but at least they can look neat and I want to grow more veggies than I had room for. I am not afraid to move things around or change things in the garden. I just do whatever suits me. Sometimes I have to move plants compleatly outta here but no worries, I always have pleanty left lol!

I just went through this at my home. I had to pour a re-enforced 2x2x16" pier for each load point. It was a pain in the neck, but was not terribly difficult or expensive and I know that things are going to stay where I put them. I hired a structural engineer.
