I was just trying to help a little because it seemed to be such an issue this year. buck, "how long, typically, does a young plant take to grow out of leaf roll?" You aren't going to like the answer. It varies. I've had some plants get over it fairly quickly (a couple of weeks or so give or take) and some plants it took a fairly long time (I recall a Rose plant in particular that must have taken over a month). I'm sorry I can't be more specific, but I didn't take specific notes on the exact amount of time. "Oh, and one more Q, do PL's curl or roll?" I suppose they could, but I don't recall experiencing it. Right now none of my PLs do, but as you can see in the pictures RLs are doing it. And, not all RLs are doing it even though they were grown almost the exact same conditions (I didn't measure the exact amount of compost etc. in each hole). Randy

Thanks for your input. i scratched the branches and all still green and it did bud set for next season when I took off a few leaves which is good I guess. Is there anything I can do except wait and see? in Terms of watering I guess I may have been heavy handed. that being said the tree was getting about 12-14 hrs of sunshine daily in July and there was a couple weeks where it was close to 30 degrees C and when I dug the rootball it was dry enough I felt To rewater whaas- if I take A chance and replant a korean maple there next year (hopinh it’s not v wilt) what would be a more appropriate amount to water?

I have to assume that the 90F temps you're talking about are IN the tunnel. That's not clearly an issue. Curly top virus (CTV) mostly affects younger leaves. No reason why a virus wouldn't be affecting several plants. That being said, upward leaf curl is often just a response to some kind of stress, and is the plant just protecting itself. Physiological leaf curl, which is the plant response to stress, usually happens first on older leaves. I think I see some in both younger and older leaves in your photos. Perhaps transplant shock? I think you just need to watch it and see how it develops. If you actually start to lose leaves, virus may be the issue.
