| I have a number of clematis in full bud - with warm weather they look about 5-7 days to bloom. We're due for temps around 30 degrees and possibly lower tonight and Sat. night & possibly Sunday night. I'm wondering if the buds be ok or will covering (with plastic) not help against sustained cold temps?
Thanks,
|

| Hi Deb, Here in Maine we are also expecting cold temperatures - I'm planning on covering my bleeding hearts with plastic bags. I would cover the clematis with plastic - better safe than sorry. Also, if plants do get frosted, you should water them with cold water prior to the morning sun shining on them. I have tried it on very frosted plants and it works! Hope this helps, Catherine |
