I just checked out the Iris again and felt along the leaves..There seems to be a pod (flower) in two of the plants but I am not sure because its enclosed still between the leaves and cant see anything...Does this mean they will finally bloom?....Steph

I think it is too early for most iris depending on the variety and also it has been very cold ... alot of flowers are taking their time this year ... just hope it doesn't get super warm and everything starts to bloom at once ... particularly hate when this happens to my roses.

I agree it's still early for a lot of plants. I mean it's only May 1. And the weather is still pretty cool. Actually I'm glad about that because when we get hot, the spiders all come out. YECCH.

My blue iris' were great this year, a deep blue. I had used a fertilizer just for blooming, I think it is triple phosphate. Of couse now,it's July. they are gone by.They get half a day sun and are spreading so much, this Fall I will need to separate them. Hope this is encouraging. Those pods contain seeds but I think they spread by their roots Vee
