Clover invading and taking over creeping phlox--what to do?

Clover is smothering my phlox and I can't see half of the blooms. Should I use a weed killer or would that kill the phlox? The only other alternative is to cut out the clover but that would destroy half of the phlox. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

You might try applying RoundUp to the clover, by hand. Put a surgical glove on your hand, and then a cotton glove. Dip forefinger and thumb in the RoundUp, and apply it to the clover. If you get enough of the clover, it'll kill the rest systematically.
