Can anyone tell me how far a vegetable Garden needs to be from a septic system?

If you have a regular household septic system and do not use it for toxic wastes I do not think you should have concerns about the vegetables growing on top of it.

A few years ago i was told not to do it by everyone and there mother, then the results made everyone beg me for my secret. I had the best peppers, squash, tom's, cucumbers and the green beans....mmm. We rented for a year before our house was built, i would give anything for that soil/spot. I have alot of work to do on this land. I tilled it last fall and left it, now i have a large compost pile and plenty of manure. I have been working it in all spring. Im still learning the ropes. So good luck! Take advantage of the area. Mac
