| I'm in mid-Westchester Co. in NY (probably 6b) and looking for a shurb that will be good at absorbing rainwater. Should be evergreen and grow to about 3 to 6 feet. It will be placed in front of a brick chimney and has some limited sun due to surrounding trees.
I'd be most appreciative of your suggestion. |

| As far as I know, there are no shrubs, or any other plants, that will solve a drainage problem by absorbing excess water. |

| Swamp azaleas love damp conditions. I don't know how much they'd actually absorb, but it would be happy there, and they're native. |
