Salvia

I have one salvia plant that grows nice and full and flowers in spring. Once the flowers have finished, I'm wondering wether to cut them back to the bottom for a 2nd reblooming...is that right?
Other salvia plants I have a sparse, never getting very full or large. I feed both types. Any suggestions? (they are all planted in areas which get some shade. |

| there are way too many salvias! Annual and perennial. Which are you asking about? If it is one of the blue perennial salvias such as May Night, you should cut off the old blooms back to where you see some nice new growth starting. |
