Unlike Matthew, I'm looking for a source, on Long Island, for larger diameter, construction grade bamboo poles. I prefer air-dried, but will consider kiln-dried. I need diameters between 1.5 and 6" and lengths to 12'.

There is a bamboo and rattan company in New Jersey that sells bamboo poles of all available diameters and lengths. I think it's called the "Bamboo and Rattan company." If you Google it using "bamboo and rattan" and "New Jersey" as the keywords, it will probably find it.

Thanks, Cady, found them. Unfortunately, they're at least 2 hours, each way, away. Nice selection of stuff, though. If I don't find something closer, I may have to plan a day trip, after shore season.
