Burdock? Don't let that one go to seed, little thistle like flowers if it is burdock.

Sure looks like a burdock to me!

The flowers are really pretty, but the seeds are something you do NOT WANT!!!

I second KWoods advice not to allow it to go to seed.

It does look sort of architectural in your flower bed, though. Might make a good accent plant if underplanted with a dense array of hostas, daylilies and other stuff.

There are ornamental species and varieties of burdock relatives (Rumex), so there's nothing embarrassing about having a wild member of the family show up in the garden.

Thanks all. I actually cut that bad boy down just tonight!
My hubby's back is bad at the moment, and I'm not sure I can dig the root out of the ground-it's HUGE!!
