Marigold decline

| How come my "Inca" marigolds got "wiped out" so early this year? Usually they turn brown and die out in late fall... I sprayed fungicide at the first "bad" signs, but to no avail. Anyone else have this problem or am I "unique"?? |

| Maybe too dry? I don't know where you live, but on my edge of Cape Cod it was so dry in July that I lost many annuals that normally last thru until frost. Suppose I could have watered them more diligently, but I was busy with a big project and gave preference to the perennials that I really needed to save. Why did you think there was a fungus problem? |

| Hi, Nan - I'm in NY (Long Island). Don't think it was lack of water - actually, the plants that got the LEAST amount of water are still "standing". The condition on the plants started off as a "necrosis" or blackening of "branches" - then - the whole plant. Looked like a fungus problem to me, so I sprayed "Soap Shield" (a very good product, by the way). Nevertheless, pretty much "everyone" "bit the dust"! |
