What should I use to wrap Fig Tree?

| In another week or so, I need to wrap my fig tree. It is about 5 feet tall. Should I use a large tarp? I had heard that whatever I use should be white. I can't use a green tarp? I plan to tie it up, then use bubble wrap and/or straw, then plastic. Am I doing this right?? |

Crabby, When I was a kid (100yrs ago) my father wrapped his fig trees in everyones discarded overcoats, no plastic in those days, it wasn't available. All the fig trees did very well and we always had loads of figs. Stella |

| I think you just need to be careful with anything dark because you don't want to roast the tree. A dark tarp might get pretty hot, especially if it is in a bright sunny spot. |
