EXTRA Nesing materials for the Birds

Hello All, sorry I've been absent for a bit. Lots to do as you know, and staring a new job.
But, I wanted to include this photo for you from an idea I got in a nursery garden this past Sep.
Here, south of Boston, MA we get a lot of starlings (who doesn't) and they LOVE peanuts! Well, that just what I mixed into my suet. The birds went nuts and devoured two bricks in no time.
Wanting to share the wealth, I waited till they had finished every last morsel, then trimmed off some grasses and some carex and stuffed them into the suet feeder, so birds could use this as nesting material.
So far so good!
When that's done, I'll put in sliced fruit.

| Excellent idea! ...and given the temperatures the last few nights, I'd be tempted to add some thick wool yarn for nest insulation. Claire |

| Actually you just reminded me of a monumental bike event I participated in which included 2 hours sleep in a pile of hay in an unheated building. It was warm! The birds should be happy. Claire |
