| Plant Swap 2006
Hi there,
Where is it? 253 Warren Wright Rd. Belchertown, MA 01007 When? *On first and third Tuesday, May through September unless otherwise noted
What to Bring? Perennials, annuals, vegetables, herbs, cuttings, fresh cut flowers, bulbs, seeds, etc.
How Does This Work? At 6:00 people will arrive with their items to swap. The items will be placed on the ground in the area where we’ll sit. You may want to bring a chair in case there are not enough. At 6:15 we’ll name off all of the items to be swapped. It is very helpful if the items are labeled. Many bring shopping bags or buckets with freshly dug plants labeled with the plant name. It’s not necessary to pot the plants you’ll bring- but you should try to keep the roots from drying out. YOU CAN BRING AS MANY OR AS FEW PLANTS AS YOU’D LIKE. SOME GARDENERS ARE JUST STARTING AND MAY NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO SWAP. THAT IS OK! Many seasoned gardeners have more than enough to share and would rather give them away than throw them in the compost. There are many plants that do poorly unless they are divided regularly (irises, daisies, phlox, etc.) This is a great way to trade them for plants you may not have.
Other Notes: No dogs or smoking please. If you bring children try to make sure they are not disruptive.

| Elaine, Thanks for posting this schedule! I'm new to this, but I plan to be there in April, trying to find homes for my extra seedlings! Just a little over a month away... Emily |

| Hi Emily, You'll enjoy it. Everyone does. It's a blast to see your plants go to new homes and to find plants you may be looking for. I will be starting the wish list a couple of weeks before the first swap so you might want to think about a special plant you'd like to have. I had a yard full of robins yesterday so it looks like spring is on its way. See you in April, Elaine |

| Here is the wish list for our last swap of this season. It really went by quickly. It was definitely the rainiest bunch of swaps we've ever had. The plants love it though and it really does show who the hard core gardeners are! If you'd like to bring an easy finger food to share with the others please do but don't feel like you have to. I know many of you come right from work. See you next Tuesday. Elaine Wish list for Sept 19, 2006 SWAP Astilbe, dark pink- Laura K. |
