| I went back to the Acton Arboretum in August. There had been a lot of discussion about Hosta on the Show Us Your Gardens August 2012 thread. So I spent quite a bit of time in the Hosta Garden. Wow. I never realized there were so many varieties of Hosta.
It wasn't just the variety of Hosta. It was also the way they were placed - small varieties next to large varieties. The variations in leaf shape, color and textures. The intermingling of small evergreens, containers, and other shade plants. Seriously - I will never turn my nose up to the word Hosta again. But I still don't like the boring old green one and the boring old green and white one. |
