You can start with online shopping - one link provided below- but there is a greenhouse forum on GW and maybe those folks can guide you better. On the store site listed below, there is a calculator to estimate how much cloth you will need and a 1-800 # so you can talk to someone. You can also call your Connecticut county extension office and ask them, and/or just stop when you see a hoop house and ask the owners. Don't know where you are in CT, but in the River valley -especially going toward Granby, Suffield - there are many hoop houses. Did you go to the library for books on greenhouses? - look for author Eliot Coleman. Also, try Amazon.com - search for greenhouse gardening - a bunch of 'how to' books are available. There are many places and people in CT that will help you. Good Luck.

I was hoping there would be somewhere close enough to pick one up-I imagine it would be a bit heavy for shipping. I was also hoping for some tips on which types of shadecloth to buy-from someone other than a salesperson. I didn't even think about contacting my extention office-I'll start there!

Thank you so much for the links. No I haven't taken any books out of the library, just kinda learning as I go. I haven't read a good book in years-not much time especially since we started preserving our own food. I do a lot of internet work though, but to tell the truth I don't know what some of the lingo means, and it's hard to imagine. I remember calling to get my Purlin's (used). The poor gentleman had a hard time explaining to me what they were and why I needed them. It's a slow process to be sure, but one I am learning from with each season we enter.

I ordered a 100' roll of 90% shade cloth from Home Depot.
NICE stuff. Look for it online. I don't recall the exact width of it.
