New England Gardening

need vacation maintenance in Newburyport, MA

We (the kids and I) head to our summer home on Cape Cod as soon as school lets out until about the end of July. My husband joins us on weekends and when he can, but basically there's no one manning our gardens/containers for 4-6 weeks. I HATE to come home in July to all my spring work undone and my containers all dead.

I have irrigation for the beds and containers although that still needs tweaking. What I need is a person to deadhead, weed and give the occasional watering. Maybe a few times a week? Anyone know of anyone?

I would try your local freecycle or craigslist, and post a job ad. I did that last summer looking for a teenager to help me out a little, and I couldn't believe the responses I got!

Just check your respondents carefully, and maybe walk them through your garden to get an idea of their gardening knowledge.

P.S. Check the bulletin board at your local supermarket, library, etc. Sometimes there are people advertising exactly such services!
