Thanks for the chuckle, and congratulations! We no longer get real trees, but I remember going through the same thing in the winter of 95/96. Every time the mound would melt enough for the tree to get free we'd get another storm. I don't know that it was as late as April, but it was a long time.

LOL! My tree is still lying outside my front door, which is about as far as my husband could get it after Christmas with all the mountains of snow. It was then buried under more snow - we forgot it was there till the snow started melting, lol!

I considered putting it curbside, but figured the city wouldn't be picking up Christmas trees in March! But I guess I was wrong, as I saw quite a few trees on the curb - funny sight in March.

I've decided I will cut the branches off and use as a mulch this year. The trunk will go in the woods out back. Won't be spring here for at least another week, when it dires out enough out there to get to work!

It's always good to have others like yourself who can relate to these things. Maybe there's a support group....

We usually drag it into the woods--talk about ghosts of Christmases past--over 30 of them in there now. But the snow was so deep this year, there was no way to get it there. So I guiltily put it out for the trash--the night before yet another storm. Punishment comes swift in these parts.

And I remember the winter of 95-96, the winter our snowblower blew in the middle of it all and we had to buy a new one at the height of the season at full price. It still hurts my New England conscience.

Mine is at the edge of the woods. Only as far in as it could be tossed over the snowbank. I should drag it further in - over next to last year's final resting place. It still looks pretty dang good though. Maybe I should prop it upright in a strategic location. I may get my money's worth out of it yet.
