April 7--A Christmas tree record

I have just set a personal best for Christmas tree dethawing and pick-up by the town. It has been encased in ice and snow since the plow buried it in January.

In just the last few days, the glacier in front of my house has melted to the point where first the tree became visible and then could be dragged from the icy clutches of Winter 2011. I did have to gaze at it, stuck in ice, for a week or so, with some leftover tinsel defiantly blowing in the wind to greet April.

The truck just left. The Christmas tree is gone. It is finally spring.
