New England Open Days with Garden Conservancy

Since someone has pulled up my post from last year, here's a gentle

reminder about this year's fast-approaching Open Days season in the

NE region, as well as an introduction for those unfamiliar with the

program. Remember: you do NOT have to be a member of the Garden

Conservancy to visit any of these gardens (although membership includes

a free directory and the chance to see ANY garden for just $2.50). . .see

the link below.

New London and New Haven head up the season in early May, followed

the end of that month by the York, ME Open Days. As always, June is a

virtual marathon - CT Open Days every single weekend - plus RI and

Bristol County, MA (right across he border) on June 18. During the latter

half of June, there will be an unprecedented (I think!) Island Double-Header:

on June 23rd, Open Days on Nantucket, followed by Martha's Vineyard on

the 30th. NH and VT both join the schedule in July and August, but the

Open Days continue right through the summer and into the Fall. . .

believe it or not, there are over 90 private gardens waiting for you to

visit in this year's NE Open Days, as well as dozens more just across the

MA/CT border in New York !

Just for the fun of it, I tend to wear the letters "GW" pinned to my shirt -

it's a great way to actually meet other folks from Garden Web forums. See you in a garden somewhere!
