I just got that too. I have winter sown seedlings out in containers, which I'll put a cover over, my blooming hellebores will get a pot turned upside down over them for the night. I've already uncovered all my perennials but they're on their own. I wonder if I should be worried about new stems and leaves on clematis vines and new leaves on the roses?

Thanks for posting this. I've been moving my pepper plants, rosemary, pointsetta, and amarylis out onto the patio lately to enjoy the nice spring weather. And I have to admit that I haven't been the best about moving them in at night. But I just went out and moved them all inside for tonight.

Ditto what pixie said--thanks for posting this. I picked up some perennials at the nursery this week that might have been nipped if there was a frost. Thanks to this post they're all inside the garage and should be fine for the night. It has been brutally cold with strong winds all day but it would be just my luck the wind would die down and we'd get a frost. Fingers crossed my winter sown seedlings are okay. I moved as many sprouted jugs under the covered area of my breezeway as would fit so wish me luck. My hellebores are blooming too, and for the first time, but I'm putting my faith in them being impervious to frost. Whatever perennials are up by now shouldn't be susceptible to frost...I hope. Our last frost date is mid-May so other than my hydrangeas the rest are on their own from here on.

I'm hoping that right along the coast it might stay a few degrees above freezing. My spinach and chard and radish seedlings ought to be OK (the garden is in RI and I'm in MA during the week) and the baby rose bushes are only budding. Funny - we just had the outside shower set up for the warm season. a-HA! - that's what brought the frost!
