Find a smart and reliable kid. Train him/her and pay well. That's what I have done and it's worked well.

Or, depending on how many you have, bring them to a friend who gardens and will know what to do. I've done this too but method #1 is better.

I've been in this situation in the past and a couple of things have worked for me. One is to thoroughly water the pots and wrap saran wrap over the top of the pot in such a way so that the seedling is poking through. Then I put the pots in an eastern exposure in the house so that they get sun in the morning but shade the rest of the day to cut down on water losses. The second way is to buy some of those polymer crystals that soak up a lot of water and place those around the seedling after I have watered the pot thoroughly. Both of these methods will easily last for a week.

Just a thought....it might be a better idea to say, 'I am heading out of town for six days', then posting the days you will be out of town. :-)
