Fairfield County, CT Open Day - 4/25

Toscairn

25 Hillside Road South

Weston, Connecticut

Regular Hours:

At the end of a narrow, dead-end road, lies a compound of small buildings that harkens back to a simpler time. This guided tour begins with a quarter mile walk in from the main road. Passing a meadow you will enter the section of the property that has been fenced for protection from deer. On this rugged, two-acre site, a daffodil collection, started by the previous owner in the 1920s, now includes thirty different cultivars that reach their peak in late April.

Directions:

From Merritt Parkway/Route 15, take Exit 42 north on Route 57. At blinking traffic light past Weston Center, turn left, cross river and continue for 0.25 mile. Hillside Road South is on right. From I-84, take Route 7 south. Turn left at Shell gas station onto Route 107, then right onto Route 57/Georgetown Road. Hillside Road South is 4 miles on left. Because of challenge of reaching this site, parking will be on or side of Route 57 on Calvin Road, requiring a 0.25-mile walk to garden. Please park as directed. Sorry, no exceptions.

Fairfield County, CT Open Day - 4/25

Jane Bescherer

38 English Drive

Wilton, Connecticut

On this land where we have lived for thirty-eight years and where I have seriously gardened for more than twenty years, it has become a place of quiet beauty.

Directions:

From intersection of Routes 33 & 7 in Wilton, take Route 33 north toward Ridgefield. From traffic light at white Congregational church, go just over 2 miles and turn right onto Nod Hill. Take next right onto Olmstead Hill and right again onto English Drive. The house, #38, is second driveway on left. Please park along English Drive.
