Ugh, pollen.

In the two decades that I've lived here, I have never seen the pollen this bad this time of year. My eyes feel like they're going to rot out and if I sneeze or cough one more time I may loose something off my body that I need. When I was driving through my town around 5:30 yesterday afternoon, I thought at first that fog was rolling in off the ocean. Then I realized it was pollen in the air. I passed by a pine tree that was dropping huge clouds of pollen as it was getting blown around in the wind. It looked like someone was emptying a giant vacuum cleaner bag onto the ground and into the air. I bought a bag of potting soil on my way home and threw it in the back of my truck. After being home for a couple of hours, I went to get the bag out of my truck and was shocked that I could no longer read the writing on the bag because of the pollen caked onto the outside of it. This may be another artifact of global warming that they don't really mention.
