I just made the connection the other day to the pollen and my eyes itching and sneezing a lot more than usual. I have never had seasonal allergies, so this came as quite a surprise. Not too happy about that, but at least this year, the symptoms are quite minor compared to what others report. At any rate, I don't think it will last much longer. I am holding off getting the car washed.

Yes, I suppose it could be some connection to global warming, but haven't read anything making that connection. Although I have read that because of the breakdown of the ozone layer, there is more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and poison ivy actually thrives in those conditions which explains why I see very vigorous healthy growth on every little bit that finds it's way into our yard. So, a connection to higher pollen does not seem so far fetched.

I made the mistake of leaving all of my windows open.....needless to say, everything is yellow. Ugh.

The other morning I got into the car and had to turn the windshield wipers on to see clearly (no rain in sight). I've hosed down the car a few times and my black kitchen appliances have a greenish yellow patina (I love open windows).

And I won't get into what pine pollen can do to smoke detectors.....

This so far seems to be a fairly normal pine pollen season in my neighborhood on the edge of the pine barrens. My immune system is on high alert (for other pollen, probably not pine).
