Hydrangea anomala petiolaris

This is a fabulous plant. Well worth the notorious wait for flowers. Sadly the plant pictured below was dealt a dreadful blow in the late February/March northeaster when 90mph gusts flattened the fence behind it. It was split to ground level but is leafing out in spite of it.

My sympathies on the damage. I remember you posting about pruning it in the past. Hopefully, with its good root system, it will recover well and bloom again soon.
