I think my russian sage and lavender didnt make it through the winter - should it be sprouting leaves by now? Or is it too early?

Some of my lavenders are just starting to sprout, others have been at it for a few weeks. The timing varies by variety and exposure. If you had one of the frilly ones, though, it's likely not coming back, no matter how long you wait. My Russian sage is sprouted too - I just checked it, and it hasn't been long because I didn't notice it last week when I was in that area.

I have sprouts on both lavender and russian sage, too.

Russian sage is budding and lavender is covered with new growth.

I don't know where you are, but re: Russian Sage, it is one of the latest perennials to wake up. I'm in NW CT (read the icebox of CT) and I see just a tiny bit of green at the crown. Patience!

Russian sage is sending up new growth here (north central CT) but only in the past week or so and only on plants that are in particularly warm, sunny spots. Others just a few feet away are barely showing signs of life. I winter sowed lavender seeds and they've sprouted but they were one of the last things to sprout. Now I just hope I can grow them.
