Bush help needed now, not weed help!

We got a little surprise this weekend. The builder/owner of our house had started gardening and then I think life got in the way. There are several scrubby bushes around, nondescript and ugly, uncared for. One has turned out to be a beauty berry, and I love it and am figuring out how to revive it. Just this weekend we got a red surprise on one of our scrubby bushes. We have never ever seen blooms on this bush before and this weekend we saw four beautiful red blooms way inside at the base of the main "trunk" of the bush. Any idea what this is, and, more importantly, if it can be returned to any type of glory? Gotta know quick because we're building a garage, and either today or tomorrow it gets removed. Is it worth relocating and saving?

I wondered it if was a red azalea, but I'm not convinced the bloom is really an azalea bloom, and the azaleas I grew up with could handle massive neglect and still look great. Also, these leaves are notched. The azaleas I know have smooth leaves.

Thank you again--you guys are amazing!
