Bullseye rash = tick bite, possible Lyme Disease

It's the season for ticks, that's for sure. And we who wade through our plant jungles are vulnerable. Lyme disease is carried by deer but even more by mice. And New England has plenty of them.

So when I saw a new bite, no pain or swelling, surrounded by a pale ring, then beyond that, a larger red ring, I made a doctor's appointment. MD said, looks like a tick bite, let's take no chances with possible Lyme Disease, here's a prescription for 3 weeks' of antibiotic. (ugh - I hate taking pills.)

So if you gardeners get a bite like this, I urge you to take no chances and see your doctor. There is also a tick repellent spray; use it!
