Hi all...so a friend and I drove up to Little Compton and checked out Sakonnet Gardens, which is open only this weekend! If you can make it, I highly recommend. I am not the experienced gardener you all are but the beautiful and rare plants were really impressive. I don't know the name of all the plants, but Enjoy. :)

The meadow..I was trying to capture the grass, which looked silken.

Thanks for posting! I always appreciate when others share garden photos, and this garden was just a bit too far for a visit. It looks lovely!!

We went, too, and saw both Sakonnet and High Elms. Amazing! My pics are on Photobucket.

I didn't even know about this place and I live just a few miles away over the border in MA. I will be checking this out today. That camellia is impressive! And it is a good reminder of how diverse New England is in terms of climate and zones and how gardeners here navigate and exploit those differences which often change a lot over fairly small distances.

Thanks to you also, Lovesummer. The two gardens look quite different, but both are lovely.

The friend I went with is a blogger, she did a post about it. Her pictures are better than mine. :)

Thank you for posting! I meant to go, and forgot all about it. I did hit Peckham's on Saturday, though!
