UMass Extension Landscape Message May 28, 2010

For those of us in pine country, a note from the Southeast Region report::

"Billowing clouds of white pine tree pollen are everywhere. The pollen was so heavy today, that from a distance it looked like smoke or fog. Vehicles are covered with pollen. It could be another banner year for white pine tree cone production!"

Claire (who is keeping a beady eye on the smoke detectors, which have been known to go berserk when exposed to pine pollen - in fact, it was Memorial Day weekend last year)
